JOB DESCRIPTION:
Space Stor Self Storage is a small and rapidly growing, privately owned self storage company. We specialize in building state-of-the-art, climate controlled facilities and then providing superior personal customer service.
We are seeking a store manager for our new 100,000 square foot, five story flagship facility which opened in Northeast Philadelphia in January 2005 and is still in its rent-up phase. As a relatively small company we pride ourselves on our ability to respond to our customers quickly and service them without the red tape of larger companies. We therefore seek an individual who is a “people person” who can interact easily with our sales prospects, customers and owners. The successful candidate will be a team builder and lead a staff of enthusiastic people to rapidly rent up our property. The manager will report to and regularly communicate with the operations partner regarding the operations, day-to-day management and marketing of the property.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be responsible for all aspects of the management and operation of the store including:
Renting self storage units by selling the features of our new and modern facilities and yourself as a professional, responsive manager. You will be expected to be both a strong telephone and face-to-face sales person using techniques that take advantage of our advertising and promotion program.
Daily office responsibilities include:
- Being responsive as required to tenants and tenant prospects
- Accounting for and collecting receivables
- Mail late notices and other correspondence at the post office
- Prepare and make bank deposits
- Using computer software to generate various management reports
- Sell point of sale items such as locks, boxes and moving supplies
- Rent moving trucks
- Participate in community events, organizations and networking to promote our facility
- Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees sales techniques and corporate procedures.
- Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years self storage management experience
- 3 years of customer service management background in airline or hospitality industry may be also be considered
- Must have high standard of integrity, ethics and honesty
- Candidate must be a proven hands-on, self starter with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communications skills
- Some college a plus
- Computer knowledge of Windows
- Must be over 18
- Work involves working flexible hours including weekends and some holidays
- Must have reliable vehicle with insurance and current drivers license
- Must have excellent employment
- Must be drug free and consent to random drug tests
- Must consent to a criminal/credit/DMV check
